Rev. Dana McQuade completed his undergraduate training in Theology Northwest Bible College in Edmonton Alberta in 1997. He completed his Masters of Counselling at City University of Seattle Washington in 2019. In addition, Dana proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1988–1990, giving him a deep respect for military culture and a strong understanding of the dedication, discipline, and sacrifice shared by both military personnel and first responders. Dana believes therapy is a process that should be offered through gentleness and compassion and works hard to assist clients to discover healing through self-reflection and creating a sense of identity by making meaning of their experiences.
Dana offers a gentle approach to therapy with an understanding that not all therapies work for all clients. He draws from an integrative style that includes modalities such as CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples), Gottman therapy for couples, Attachment Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
Dana has vast experience working with diverse clients from ages 12 and up, including children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families, groups, Veterans, RCMP, Firefighters, EMS, and specializes in working with those who have experienced developmental traumas such as physical, emotional and sexual abuse.
