Mckenna Causey
Registered Provisional Psychologist
Welcome! My name is Mckenna, and I am a registered provisional psychologist. I have a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I pursued this career because I gain purpose through supporting others and giving back to my community. I work with children, teens, and adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I use an integrated therapy approach, and a term that fits me well is an existential-humanistic practitioner. This means I focus on love, purpose, and meaning making, while recognizing that humans are wired for connection. I believe the relationship I cultivate with my clients is crucial in creating a safe space to foster growth. I value being genuine, empathetic, and giving unconditional acceptance and support. I believe clients want to become the best version of themselves, and I am here to support them on their journey through change and growth. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) intervention techniques, and I am looking forward to further expanding my professional toolkit as I grow as a counsellor.
Outside of work and school, I enjoy playing competitive ringette, getting my groove on in zumba, and curling up under at least seven blankets with hot tea and a good book. I also enjoy spending time with my fur kid, Morrie.
