Registered Psychologist

Mingshan completed an M.Sc. in Counselling Psychology at the University of Calgary in 2026 and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University. As a professor and health economist, her decades in academia have shaped her understanding of achievement pressures, professional demands, and work–life balance.

Mingshan counsels adolescents (12+) and adults, with a particular interest in supporting people with ADHD or ASD. She helps clients navigate anxiety, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation, academic and workplace pressures, and relationship challenges. She also supports students and professionals experiencing perfectionism, procrastination, stress, burnout, and life transitions. Her work extends to supporting parents of children with ADHD or ASD, as well as women navigating work–life balance, relationships, and emotional challenges during perimenopause and menopause.

Mingshan believes people are more than their diagnoses, difficulties, or achievements. Her person centred approach recognizes how life experiences, relationships, and transitions can shape present-day challenges. She works collaboratively with clients to deepen self-understanding, build on their strengths, and find meaningful ways forward. Her commitment to culturally responsive care is informed by graduate training in Indigenous approaches to therapy and supervised clinical experience.
