Dr. Steven Wong
Doctor of Acupuncture
Dr. Steven Wong completed his acupuncture training at Grant MacEwan University, graduating in 2025. He is a Doctor of Acupuncture with the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta, supporting the Edmonton area. He has experience practicing in both multidisciplinary settings and private practice, working with a wide range of patient needs.
Prior to his career in acupuncture, Steven worked as a Biomedical Engineering Technician for over a decade. During the COVID-19 pandemic he developed, set up, and maintained critical laboratory equipment under high-pressure conditions. This experience cultivated a strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a deep sense of responsibility, while also providing firsthand insight into the impact of chronic stress and burnout.
His clinical approach is grounded in Traditional Chinese Medicine and informed by a modern, evidence-aware perspective. His acupuncture practice focuses on restoring balance through regulation of the nervous system and addressing underlying patterns that contribute to pain and dysfunction. Treatments are tailored to each individual, with an emphasis on both immediate relief and longer-term outcomes.
Dr. Steven Wong is trained in trauma-informed care and integrates this into all aspects of treatment, prioritizing patient safety, consent, and adaptability. Within Wayfound, he offers Ear Acupuncture Resilience (EAR) treatments to support stress response, emotional regulation, and recovery from the effects of trauma and burnout.
Dr. Steven Wong aims to create a space where patients feel supported, informed, and actively engaged in their care.
