Tara Neville

Registered Psychologist

Hello! My name is Tara Neville, and I am a Registered  Psychologist and Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.). My practice is dedicated to serving individuals of all ages, including children, adolescents/youth, and adults, as they navigate concerns related to their mental health and overall wellness.

I offer a range of services, including psychological assessments and therapeutic counseling. My expertise covers a variety of issues, and I am particularly drawn to helping those with a history of trauma, anxiety, relationship concerns, or undergoing life transitions, including pregnancy and introduction of a new child.

Over the past decade, I have devoted my career to working in the non-profit and social sectors. I specialize in assisting individuals who often find themselves in a state of crisis, seeking help to re-regulate and stabilize their lives, or just ready to make a change the path life has been on. I deeply respect the courage it takes to seek help during such times and strive to create a safe and trusting space where my clients feel valued, heard, and met with compassion and kindness.

My approach to therapy is holistic and client-centered. You know you best, so we take things at your pace, and work together to navigate your unique wellness journey. Therapy should not only help you understand your own internal world, but hopefully foster connections to the broader systems and relationships that influence your mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. I draw from a wide range of approaches to help us do this, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Nature-based therapies. I am a strong advocate for the healing power of nature and incorporate it into sessions when appropriate and desired.

Outside of my professional life, I am a devoted mom to a busy preschooler and a nature enthusiast. I cherish outdoor activities like biking, cross-country skiing, and camping with my family. The rest of the time I find joy in crafting various things, escaping into a good fantasy book, and caring for my plant babies.
